Right. You, whoever you might be, have reached the voicemail inbox...thing of the Doctor. Not a doctor—if you were looking for one of those, go call another number, my practice is full up and you're not getting in, even with a recommendation, thanks. If you're looking for the Doctor, you might have found him, but, blimey, there are a lot of us thes running about, so who's to know I'm your the?
Mm. Oh, yes, I'm the one who never met Rose.
[Off, as though speaking turned away from the phone] Oi, I am not a bitter old man, you take that back.
[Speaking into the phone again] Leave a tone after the beep. No, a message after the tone. Or the beep. A message after the tone-slash-beep-slash-your-onomatopoeiac-phrase-of-choice. Get on with it, I don't have to tell you how to do everything, do I?

Date: 2008-09-29 09:45 pm (UTC)[ooc; Yeah, he'd probably recognise her, since she 'feels' different than she looks, though he could always be all: Oh, Brigadier for fun. It's really up to you! *pets* No worries, really! 's all in good fun~]

Date: 2008-09-29 10:18 pm (UTC)Others, no. I need them. You know that.

Date: 2008-09-30 03:51 am (UTC)...but I suppose that is one aspect of you I love, regardless. We never would have seen all we have if you were content with what you had.

Date: 2008-09-30 04:01 am (UTC)I don't know how you put up with some of my others. The one I'm with now, I might have him up for negligence.

Date: 2008-09-30 04:23 am (UTC)I do so carefully and with great frustration. With whom do you currently travel, if I may ask?
no subject
Date: 2008-09-30 05:02 am (UTC)Well, I met this other version of me in an alternate universe, and he...suggested I might like to come along with him. Which makes me the plus one, at present. Plus two, really, after Astrid. Brilliant woman. We brought her back to life.

Date: 2008-09-30 05:06 am (UTC)So it is yourself and another Doctor travelling together? Are you not concerned with causing a tear in the fabric of time and space with such a venture? I am unfamiliar with this Astrid woman. Who is she?
no subject
Date: 2008-09-30 04:17 pm (UTC)Hm, alternate universes, so we're not so much the same person as...long-lost twins? Our luck's holding so far, no tears yet. Not even a snag.
Oh, Astrid. Astrid Peth, she's from Sto. My other met her on this doomed spacecruiser—the Titanic, can you believe that? She helped him out, died in the process. Well, almost died. We tipped the scales together, made her more alive than dead. She's smashing, the curiosity on her.

Date: 2008-09-30 05:11 pm (UTC)If I have yet to sound the Cloister Bell, there is nothing for it, then. You should be safe.
And how did you accomplish this feat? Is she any more curious than your other companions?

Date: 2008-09-30 05:48 pm (UTC)No, no tolling so far. The last thing we need is bells. The drums are more than enough, thanks.
Long story. Relatively short, really, for my long stories, but, yes. She was incorporeal, missing a fair few atoms, but we used the latent energy of a multiversal nexus and my other's memories of her, reinforced the template, encouraged the potential, patched her right up. She wanted to be, we wanted her to be, and, you know nexuses, very Blue Fairy, just waiting to make wishes come true. You've pulled a few tricks like that, yourself.

Date: 2008-09-30 06:17 pm (UTC)Drums?
Ah, yes. I have done such things, indeed. That was quite clever of you both. I am impressed.

Date: 2008-09-30 07:27 pm (UTC)Mm, yeah, I've contracted a personal soundtrack. All in my head, I'm sure it'll fade out. Just need to give it time.
Well, I'm a genius, he's a genius, we were bound to come up with something.
no subject
Date: 2008-09-30 08:50 pm (UTC)They had best. I will be quite put out if they do not. Well, the self that you currently travel in, at least.
And yet no matter how genius you are, you can never quite seem to pilot me properly.
no subject
Date: 2008-09-30 09:34 pm (UTC)It's why I'm traveling with my other self. He thinks he can help. I'm not sure it's one of our better ideas.
Oi, don't knock it. It's a real trick, surprising myself with the destination when I'm the one at the controls. 'Least I don't do it blindfolded. Or have I? Hm. Might have to try that.
no subject
Date: 2008-10-01 01:15 am (UTC)Perhaps not. But I would rather something be done than you be in constant pain.
You have done it blindfolded. I ask you not do so again.
no subject
Date: 2008-10-01 01:24 am (UTC)Oh. ...Whilst standing on my head? Have I tried that yet?
no subject
Date: 2008-09-29 10:07 pm (UTC)Don't you think it's weird how Earth Doctors have practices? Are the practice ones cheaper than the experienced ones? They should be.
Oh, this is Astrid. In case you were wondering.

Date: 2008-09-29 10:13 pm (UTC)Hi, it's me again, sorry. [cringe]
This jar, in the kitchen, with tiny square paper bags inside? That's 'tea' right?
no subject
Date: 2008-09-29 10:24 pm (UTC)Astrid, hello!
Mm. It's either tea or it's the Tiflin diamonade. Or it could be Mirrock's Compendium of Very Small Letters, but why would he keep that in the kitchen?
What's the packet say?

Date: 2008-09-30 12:43 am (UTC)If it looks like crumbled-up leaf in the bags, and not powder of cubic zirconia, I'd lay odds that it's tea, yes.
Oh, hold on, does he have the kind that comes in little balls, opens up as it steeps? I thought I had some performance tea off of the Emperor of the Shattered Sundial, look around.
